Johnston Public Schools

School Construction

Building for the Future

An investment in students, schools, and our community

Our district continues to grow rapidly, and we are dedicated to providing safe, innovative, and supportive learning environments for all students. By working together, we can ensure that every student has the resources and surroundings they need to succeed.

Facility Plan

Johnston Public Schools’ facilities work has been adjusted to better align with community concerns, enrollment projections, and fiscal responsibility. Based on input from families, the Mayor’s office, and NESDEC enrollment data, the following school reconfiguration will take effect over the next three school years. This plan has been vetted by RIDE, Colliers Project Leaders and SLAM. With the Support of the Mayor, School Committee & Building Committee all of our students from Pre-K through grades 5 will be in a brand new facility.

  • Enrollment Growth

Growing student populations are increasing demand on classrooms and shared spaces.
  • Facility Needs

Updates are needed to maintain safe, functional, and modern learning environments.
  • Future Planning

Proactive improvements help manage long-term costs and support community growth.
